There was a tense atmosphere due to a massive protest in front of the Assembly. ABVP supporters participated in the demonstration outside the Assembly in protest against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's remarks on the Kumbh. They clashed heavily with the police.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had referred to the Mahakumbh as 'Mrityu Kumbh' in the Assembly. In response, ABVP supporters gathered to protest against her. They staged a demonstration in front of Gate No. 2 of the Assembly, which is primarily used by the Speaker, ministers, and other key officials to enter.

ABVP supporters suddenly reached this gate, causing a major challenge for the police in handling the situation. The lack of female police officers further complicated matters for the authorities. Eventually, ABVP supporters were forcibly dragged into police vans and taken away.
